The new water attraction, Splash! is generating a buzz among guests. A previously underutilized pool area was replaced with a flashy water attraction complete with squirting and pouring water,
three pools and plenty of comfortable seating. Splash! opened the first weekend in February 2009, and the hotel hopes the water feature will enhance their visitors’ stay. “This was the place we could add something to create a better experience for our guests,” said Aaron A. Wolf, director of sales and marketing for Comfort Suites in Green Bay. Peter Phillips, general manager for Comfort Suites in Green Bay, said families are looking to get more for their money. Phillips said, “We feel we’ve added a lot more value for our guests – they pay the room rate but in addition to that they
can enjoy the water attraction.” Splash! features three water areas – one pool designed for children, one pool catered toward adults and a calming whirlpool.
The two main pools wrap into one another; the kiddy pool is meant for young children
to move around and gradually spills into the larger pool. The deeper of the two, the adult pool area, is still less than four feet deep and welcomes a competitive game of basketball with the two permanent hoops. Gazing through the glass doors, guests will be drawn in by the giant structure resting in the kiddy pool. The climbing play area features two spray guns and a slippery
blue slide. Rain sprinkles down from an oversize mushroom and dumps from a large bucket.
Once inside the water attraction, a six foot yellow wraparound slide will catch your eye. This sensational slide brings riders into the adult pool. Parents – not up for splashing around?
Relax on the tall or traditional patio chairs scattered throughout the attraction; rest assured you will be able to keep an eye on the children throughout the room without ever leaving your seat.
If you work up an appetite in the pool, place your food or drink order with the staffed foodservice area in Splash! Choose from fresh-made pizzas, hot dogs, brats and other family favorites. Order alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages from the full service bar and sip away.
Splash! is open daily but the water attraction is guaranteed to be operating Fridays, 4 p.m. – 11 p.m., Saturdays, 8 a.m. – 11 p.m. and Sundays, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Hotel guests are given pool passes with their room reservation, additional visitors or local families can purchase passes on Sundays
from 12 p.m. – 9 p.m. Birthday parties or special events may reserve space on through the sales department. Consider staying close to home for your next family getaway. Comfort Suites and
Splash! offer affordable entertainment and is practically located in your backyard.
